Calgary man dies after falling while rock climbing in Kananaskis

KANANASKIS, ALTA.—Police say a man from Calgary has died in a climbing accident in Kananaskis Country.

Around 5:27 p.m. Sunday, Kananaskis RCMP responded to help Alberta Parks after a man fell while climbing near Rawson Lake in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, which is southwest of Calgary.

Police say he stumbled on ice and snow, and fell about 15 metres.

The 58-year old man from Calgary died from his injuries.

His name has not been released.

No further details have been provided.
