TORONTO — To screams of delight from the panda watchers, Jia Panpan and his twin sister, Jia Yueyue, sauntered out of their enclosure for tasty birthday treats Friday.

“The Toronto Zoo has always had birthday celebrations but wanted to do something super special for today’s event,” said Karen Tunwell, the Toronto Zoo’s giant panda keeper.

She recommends visiting the zoo over the next five months to view the twins, along with their mom and dad, because at the end of March, 2018, the family of four heads to the Calgary Zoo.

Tunwell said the pandas have been one of the favourite attractions for the Zoo’s visitors and are “especially playful when it is snowing, so don’t hesitate to come in winter.”
